It all started with a simple sketch on a napkin, right inside a Dunkin' Donuts. Lindsey and I were just two young realtors with big dreams and even bigger ambitions. We laid out our business plan, aiming for 1 million dollars in real estate volume. It may not have been the most professional start, but it represented our determination to succeed.
We faced skepticism from others, who thought starting an independent agency was a terrible idea. But Lindsey and I believed in each other, and more importantly, we believed that together, we could create something truly remarkable. As Lindsey playfully recalls, she "made it 'more professional'" by re-transcribing our plan on the front of a manilla envelope. It was a small step, but it symbolized our commitment to taking our dreams to the next level.
The journey was not without its challenges. We took risks, buying leads and flipping properties. It was a high level of risk at the time, and I won't lie, it brought some gray hairs. But we persevered because we knew we had something special. We had a solid business plan that generated $30,000 in revenue from every million dollars of real estate volume. That was our starting point, and from there, we aimed to double our business every year.
Doubling our business every year may sound crazy to some, but we knew we had to push ourselves. And guess what? We did it! From $32 million to $64 million, then to $130 million, we surpassed every milestone we set for ourselves. It was an incredible journey, and people looked at us like we were out of our minds. But we were determined to prove them wrong.
Fast forward to today, and I am immensely proud to share that DJ & Lindsey Real Estate has reached a milestone that once seemed impossible. Since 2020, the year we started using our tracking software, we have sold a jaw-dropping $3 billion in real estate volume! Yes, you read that right. And I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to our leadership & incredible team of agents.
Brittany, Brett, Travis, Holly. Your selflessness of helping all these young ambitious agents is like no other. In fact, it’s 1 in 3,000,000,000.
